5 Essential Shopify Apps for Dropshipping
Apps are essential for a successful and legitimate Shopify store. However, there are so many apps on the market, it can be very overwhelming, especially when you're just starting out. There are definitely more than only 5 apps that would bring your store from 0 to 100, but for the sake of brevity, these 5 will serve you very well in your dropshipping adventure.
First of all, the essential app for dropshipping - Oberlo. I personally haven’t seen a dropshipping site on the Shopify platform that doesn’t use Oberlo. What this app is, in short, is a way to import products directly from Aliexpress to your website. Furthermore, once the products are on your store, you can purchase them with only a few clicks through Oberlo, as they autofill customer information once it gets to Aliexpress. When you first start using Oberlo, it can be a little bit confusing because of the amount of features that it offers, but you’ll quickly take to it and it’ll become the staple app of your website. The cool part about this app is that it’s totally free until you hit 50 orders a month, which is very easy to do. After that, it’s only 29.90 a month for up to 500 orders, and 79.90 for unlimited orders.
The second app, and an app that clears up a bunch of confusion for customers and makes things extremely streamlined, is Conversio. This app is incredible because it has a bunch of different features built into it. Now, it can be entirely free if you want it to be, or you can pay a bit per month to access some more features. With the free version, you can send receipts to customers to let them know about the details of their order and include upsells within that receipt (which has gotten me several sales), follow-up emails to customers with any other information you want to give them, and customer feedback for your website. The paid version includes abandoned cart emails, newsletter emails, product reviews, and product recommendations. There’s a crazy amount of features that this app has, and its addition instantly brings up the legitimacy of your website, even if you just utilize order receipts.
Aftership is the third app, and boy is this one helpful for reducing stress. This app simply allows you to place a “Track my order” page on your website to allow your customers to track their orders themselves instead of emailing you and bothering you about where their order is. Not only that, but it can send delivery updates to customers to keep them knowledgeable about where their order is. There’s not much else to say about this app other than it’s simplicity and helpfulness makes it a quick, free (under 100 trackings a month) addition to any Shopify store.
Fourth, we have Privy, and this app will eventually equate to big bucks in the future for you. I say that because Privy provides very clean and easy email popups to not only offer customers discounts and incentivize them to buy, but it also collects email addresses for you, growing your email list which you can then use when you decide to undergo email marketing. It’s extremely expensive to acquire new customers, so collecting the emails of people that have already shown interest in your products will help you to save a lot of money and make a lot of money off of the same customers. The customization of the popups is great and you can make them as intrusive or as subtle as possible, which is great for testing to see which works best for your target audience. I can’t see myself without Privy, as it’s netted me thousands of very targeted email addresses that I use for my email marketing campaigns.
And lastly, but certainly not least, we have Hurrify This app is crazy cool, in the sense that it helps bring a solution to the biggest objective of dropshipping - creating want for your product. Let’s be real, most of the products that are dropshipped, people don’t need. So, we need to create value for the customer. Show them that this product is great and that other people already like it. Hurrify allows you to create the illusion that your store is bustling and your product is flying off the shelves. Now, a lot of people have caught on to this strategy, but that’s largely outnumbered by the amount of people that have no clue it isn’t legitimate. With some crafty wording of the countdown timer, you can increase your sales by quite a large percent, as you’re playing directly into the customer’s brain. Kind of crazy stuff, but it works great. Also, it’s only $7 a month. It definitely makes its money back and much more.
